Aleksandr Katasonov

During his playing career Aleksandr Katasonov played for FC Orekhovo (Orekhovo-Zuyevo, 1993), Moscow Lokomotiv (1994-1996), Perm Amkar (1997), Spartak-Chukotka (1998-2000), Moscow Region Saturn (2000-2001), Latvian clubs Metallurg and Jurmala (2001-2007), where he finished his professional career and began his coaching career - he became the coach of the reserve team of FC Metallurg (Liepaja).

Before joining our club, the 52-year-old specialist had been working at the football school of Moscow Lokomotiv since 2008, was part of the coaching staff of the second team of the railway workers in 2013-2014, and was the senior coach of the main team of FC Khimki in 2010.

In 2017, Katasonov was appointed head coach of the youth team of Lokomotiv, and simultaneously held the position of sports director of the club academy for several years. During his work in this position, the teams of the Academy of Railway Workers repeatedly won the Russian Championship and the RFU Cup in various categories, won major international tournaments, and in the 2018/2019 season, the youth team of the capital club reached the playoffs of the UEFA Youth Champions League.

In 2019, he held the post of head coach of FC Lokomotiv-Kazanka (Moscow).

In 2021, Alexandr Katasonov became the head of the Lokomotiv Women's Football Club, under his leadership the team won the gold medals of the Super League (2021), won the Cup (2021) and the Super Cup (2021) of Russia.

From 2022 to 2024, he worked as the head coach of the teams born in 2006, 2007, 2008 and as a methodologist at the Academy of FC Rodina (Moscow).

He has a Pro UEFA coaching category. More than 50 of his students play for professional teams of the RPL and the First League.
