Nikita Smirnov graduated from the Russian State University of Physical Education, Sports, Youth and Tourism (GTSOLIFK). Since 2015, he worked at the football academy of FC Rodina (Moscow), where he was responsible for working with goalkeepers in teams of different ages - from 8 to 17 years old.
Since 2018, he has also been a member of the Russian women's junior team U-17 as a goalkeeper coach, and since 2020 - of the Russian women's youth team under 19 years old.
He has UEFA B- and UEFA B-goalkeeper coaching licenses.
