"Dynamo" and "Chertanovo" played to a draw in Novogorsk

The start of the 2024 season for Dynamo, although it turned out to be difficult, has only brought joy to the fans of the blue and white. It is not easy for obvious reasons: there are energy-intensive, logistically complex trips to Krasnodar, Rostov-on-Don and Krasnoyarsk, and the first Moscow derby of the season with Lokomotiv, a representative of the “big three” of the Super League. And even the game with a clear outsider, Samara’s Krylia Sovetov, was far from being in economy mode for our team, despite the final score.

Here, too, injuries began to stick to the Dynamo football players. First, Fauzia Nazhemba was injured in the game against Wings, and in the next match against Yenisei, Irina Dricheva was forced to leave the field early due to injury. Ironically, Ira replaced Fau in the starting lineup, but now she too will be forced to spend some time recovering. Typically, both players received their injuries during the first halves.

However, there is still more positivity in the game, and most importantly, in the results now. Five victories in a row, the team did not concede in four of them, they finally beat a team from the top 3 of the Super League, difficult away victories were won on character, and of course - all this reinforces their confident position in the top three. Moreover, there are only three points to first place, which is now occupied by CSKA. All this gives confidence to the team, which at least took into account the mistakes of last season and is making progress, and is simply playing interesting, entertaining football.

And here’s the situation: Dynamo, which has gained momentum, is facing Chertanovo, which is having a bad start to the season (2 draws, 4 losses, 5-12 in goals and concedes). Knowing the whole background and background of the relationship between the two clubs, the significance of the meetings between Dynamo and Chertanovo always acquired the status of “more than a derby”. There was no doubt that even in this state, Chertanov’s team would definitely not take to the field to serve their number.

Moreover, the last personal meeting between the two teams at the moment... was never completed. The fact is that the friendly game between Dynamo and Chertanovo at the Turkish training camp in the off-season was ended early due to heavy rain that covered the Belek area where the match took place. The teams went to the break with the score 2:1 in favor of Dynamo (a brace by Kaylan Williams), but did not return to the field - the rain got so intense that it became impossible to continue the game. Well, now, in order to find out who is stronger, this time the teams will have both 90 minutes and excellent weather conditions in Novogorsk in May.

The game in the first half developed gradually, as if trying to convince everyone watching the game: the intrigue today will be real, without subtexts, reservations and unnecessary hype. And although the teams harnessed for a long time, they rode very quickly.

Having not achieved quick success, the blue and white were not that much upset, but they seemed to have given up the initiative to the guests, as if inviting them: well, now you try! Chertanovka seemed to be waiting for this invitation - they had not been shy before and felt quite at ease in the Dynamo half of the field, and after such a nod from the hosts of Novogorsk they rushed to score. And they achieved their goal! Unfortunately, not without help from the dynamos themselves.

In the 30th minute, young Chertanovo starlet Yana Svistunova moved to the center and shot - Diana Ponomareva should have calmly taken this ball, but it treacherously darted under her and flew into the goal - 0:1... It’s doubly offensive here: not only that the team missed, and the Dynamo goalkeeper also interrupted his “dry” streak, which lasted four matches.

Having recovered a little after such an icy shower, the blue and whites finally remembered that they were actually playing at home, and were also vying for a place in the top three and playing against the outsider team of the season. It was not possible to prove this with a goal until the end of the first half, but Lavrentiev’s team started the second half at a frantic pace as usual!

But even their goal was not just illogical, but in fact now claims to be the most curious one this season. Elena Shesterneva fired from the center of the field at Chertanovo goalkeeper Varvara Dudorova, the ball dropped from the crossbar to the goal line and jumped into the field. It seems that he finally crossed the line, but just in case, Kaylan Williams rushed to finish and sent the ball into the empty corner - 1:1! Both during the match and after its completion, the ball was recorded on the official Super League website for the American. Be that as it may, the main thing is that the goal took place, and who will be credited with it in the end is a matter for the league.

And here Dynamo would take the game into their own hands and bring things to a new goal. But up to this point, Chertanovka has already shown that failures at the start of the season are not a reason to classify the team as hopeless outsiders. Not only did they extinguish the attacking impulse of the Dynamo players, pushing the game away from their goal, but they also did not forget about their own attack. The dynamic players, realizing that they could not solve the problem for the game, began to become noticeably nervous.

And there were enough reasons for this: there was the crossbar of the Dynamo goal, which Chertanovka hit after a free kick, and even a goal scored by Arina Akatieva, who came on as a substitute. But then, as they say, it happened - the referees recorded an offside for Chertanovo player Olesya Berezanskaya, who was interfering with Ponomareva’s view during Akateva’s strike, and the goal was cancelled.

The ending of the meeting was completely amplitude, like a roller coaster. Moreover, both teams rode this rollercoaster - the game was going for three results, anyone could snatch victory.

And yet, the final whistle of Anastasia Varfolomeeva recorded a draw in Novogorsk - 1:1. The first for Dynamo in the season - as well as the first loss of points. Well, if we talk about the duel between Dynamo and Chertanovo in the championship, then Dynamo cannot beat the team from the south of Moscow in home matches: last year there was a defeat, now it’s a draw. Plus one point in the history of the confrontation.
