Dynamo players celebrate first victory at final stage of Youth League
The white-blues beat Krylia Sovetov in Novogorsk thanks to a goal from Daniella Petrova from the penalty spot (1:0).
The Dynamo youth team's winless streak has clearly dragged on. The last time the white-blues celebrated success was on May 12 in a home game against Sochi (7:0). After that, it was like a slog: six defeats and two draws, not a single win in the final stage of the Youth League.
It would seem that the most obvious chances were in the games with their closest competitors, Rubin and Rostov, but Dynamo lost in these matches too, and with the same score of 1:2. Next on the list are Krylia Sovetov, who are in seventh place in the tournament table, just above Kazan and Rostov-on-Don.
This time, Jose-Diana Pamen Tchato, Arina Taranchenko and Milena Nikitina went to help the youth team. Together with Volobueva, Gnennaya, Greuli, Orlova, Yakovenko, Azeeva, Nikitina and Razvorotneva, they came out in the starting lineup. The first minutes showed that the opponent was not at all simple and it would be problematic to open the defense of the "Wings". And in the attacking actions, the Volga players had interesting options, mainly using the left flank. However, the hosts sometimes demonstrated good mutual understanding on the opponent's half of the field. Thus, in the 11th minute, Kristina Yakovenko dragged the ball along the right flank, passed it to the free Razvorotneva, but Tasya shot straight at the goalkeeper. In the attack of the second chance, Petrova shot from afar, but inaccurately.
It must be admitted that neither of them sat in defense, but played openly and widely, running away in quick attacks at the first opportunity, so the ball often ended up with one goalkeeper, then the other. They were shooting from everywhere – from close range and from afar, but the goalkeepers objectively played well.
In the middle of the half, the Dynamo players drew a stunningly beautiful combination, having figured out a “two on zero” exit, but it didn’t come to a shot – the linesman recorded an offside. Gradually, the white-blues took control of the ball and began to escalate the situation at the Krylia goal, however, as has happened more than once this season, in the final stage the smallest thing was missing – the last pass, the last touch, the last pass.
As a result, the first half of the match remained goalless: interesting, watchable, but without goals scored.
Anastasiya Orlova
The beginning of the second half was left to Dynamo. The white-blues rushed forward, earned a couple of set pieces, shot dangerously at the goal, but there were no main things - goals. However, the guests also used their opportunities to the maximum. What is worth only Nikiforova's moment, who robbed Greuli, beat her, entered the penalty area and shot accurately, but Taranchenko showed her class and saved the goal from an inevitable goal.
Gradually, the game moved to the hosts' half of the field, where Ekaterina Nikiforova, who came on as a substitute, showed herself brilliantly, finding herself in a killing position time after time. Dynamo responded with a super-dangerous corner, which ended with a shot from Pamen Tchato, but, unfortunately, right into the hands of Alina Pogosyan.
Ksenia Skotnikova and Polina Kolesnikova entered the field for the last twenty minutes, replacing Azeeva and Razvorotneva. Both Ksyusha and Polina added spice to the attack, and literally the first attack after their appearance almost became a goal - Daniella Petrova hit the goalkeeper.
The most realistic moment was had by the same Petrova, who in the 78th minute actually went one-on-one, but for some reason went too far to the right and shot inaccurately, although the visiting goalkeeper was already beaten.
The hero of the next, as it turned out later, decisive episode was again Petrova. Dana earned a penalty, and she herself realized it in cold blood - 1:0.
At the very end, Taranchenko came to the rescue, pulling an almost dead ball from under the crossbar. Already in added time, the guests had a real chance to snatch a draw, but the ball hit the crossbar twice after a free kick! The football god was literally on the side of the white-blues that day. The first victory in the final stage of the Youth League was very difficult, but completely and fully deserved. Points had to be scored at all costs. When, if not now?
