Helena Bozic just scored the third and winning goal for Dynamo against Ryazan-VDV

The blue and white lost the first half with a score of 0:2, but scored three in the second and won.

The first loss of points, which happened in the last round in the match with Chertanovo, did not deprive our team of a place in the top three of the standings, however, this draw (1:1) in the derby cannot be called planned. Although Sergei Lavrentyev’s team was holding the second capital derby of the season, they met with an unexpected outsider of the season: before the meeting with Dynamo, Chertanovka occupied a place in the basement of the Super League standings. However, this did not stop them from showing their best football of the season against Dynamo, who had won 5 wins in 5 matches before this meeting.

However, here too it is important to note the positive: for the first time this season, the blue and white found themselves in the role of a losing team during the match and coped with this test with dignity. Let us also note that this happened only in the sixth match of the season, that is, in all previous games Dynamo did not concede first, and they did not concede at all - before the meeting with Chertanovo, the ball entered the Dynamo goal only once. They could have snatched their sixth victory in a row, but this time it didn’t work out. As both representatives of the coaching staff and the players themselves say: the whole struggle of the season is still ahead.

And after such an outcome of the match with Chertanovo, Lavrentiev’s players will probably be angrier, especially since their closest rival, ZhFK Ryazan-VDV, is one of those with whom the Dynamos regularly show their anger. Last season, the clubs met three times and Dynamo’s players won three times, and they became one of the largest in the club’s history in official matches: 5:0, 2:0, 7:1! So there were clearly more reasons for optimism before the game in Ryazan than there were reasons to be upset and worry about missed opportunities in the last round.

But it all started with yet another change in the lineup: by decision of the team doctors, the main goalkeeper Diana Ponomareva and left back Maria Digurova were unable to take part in the match. Their places were taken by Arina Taranchenko and Maria Galai, respectively. Galai moved from her right flank to her left, and Kamilla Abashilova took her place.

The changes in the lineup were not exactly discouraging, but they certainly surprised. The already difficult situation after Nazhemba and Dricheva dropped out due to injuries was complicated by the losses of reinforced concrete players of the base.

Whether these losses affected the team or not, the fact remains that Dynamo failed in the first half. What exactly happened is now up to the coaching staff of the blue and white to find out, but our girls have never played so badly this season. The Ryazankans came out to the game fully charged and with such sparkling eyes that they not only severely fouled the Dynamo players, but also played so enthusiastically in attack that at times it was simply scary for the young Arina Taranchenko, who replaced Ponomareva at the last line. They tested her strength with long-range shots, dangerous passes into the penalty area and goalkeeper, and set pieces. Unfortunately, our defenders also took part in this inspection.

It was after one of Dynamo’s mistakes that the home team’s defender opened the scoring. Ksenia Kubichnaya handled the ball unsuccessfully, and it ended up in the hands of the main scorer of the Ryazan team in the last and this season, Elena Zubkova, who took full advantage of the opportunity - she moved into the center of the penalty area and accurately fired into the corner past Taranchenko, scoring her fifth goal in the 2024 Super League.

Well, at the very end of the first half, already in stoppage time, the Ryazan football players made excellent use of the standard position: Natalya Perepechina served into the penalty area, where Alena Guseva sent the ball into the empty corner of the Dynamo goal. Not to say that in this episode the Dynamo defense played flawlessly. 0:2 after the first half meant one thing - a very tough conversation between Sergei Lavrentiev and the team during the break...

How he does this and what exactly he tells his players, one can only guess, but it is simply impossible to see a weak-willed Dynamo in the second half! In the last game with Chertanovo, the Dynamo team bounced back immediately after the break; this time, Ryazan-VDV could have scored a goal from the locker room, but Elena Shesterneva was unable to realize a practical one-on-one with Maria Zhamanakova, she lacked accuracy.

Well, what began after the 53rd minute, when Kristina Komissarova won one goal back and returned Dynamo in the game, you just had to see! Perhaps the words of Ryazan-VDV head coach Natalya Karaseva and Ryazan captain Maria Zhamanakova can be fairly applied to this part of the match: “No comments!”

It took the blue and white fifteen minutes to score the second goal and level the score. It was Kaylan Williams who perfectly closed Maria Galai’s serve and gave the team back all the chances of winning in Ryazan!

Were they able to use them? Yes, yes, yes and yes again! And how dramatic! 90th minute, the ball almost goes beyond the goal line, but at the last moment it is saved from being thrown out in the fall by Elina Samoilova and sent to Helena Bozic standing alone on the goal line, who can only send it into the empty net - 3:2! An incredible ending to the match in Ryazan, which started out worse than ever for Dynamo. It seems that this is the character of a champion, doesn’t it?
