The blue and white lost to the home team in an unpredictable match in Perm (0:2) and made their fight for the Super League bronze more difficult
Dynamo, which is on a roll (three wins and a draw in one calendar month), is entering the final stretch. There are 4 matches ahead, and without a doubt, each of them will be decisive. The next game is away against Zvezda-2005, then two super derbies with CSKA and Spartak, and finally, the final game of the championship with Rubin Kazan away — it is in these matches that Dynamo's fate in this season will be decided. Will it be the club's first Super League medals or will they repeat last year's result (5th place in the Super League) — as they say, there is a world of difference. And the aftertaste of each of these outcomes will be completely different.
Of course, a lot depends on Dynamo's rivals — Spartak and Lokomotiv. Now Dynamo's gap from them is 2 and 5 points, respectively. It is actually difficult to say for sure which of the three contenders for the bronze medals has an easier schedule at the end: we have already mentioned Dynamo's opponents, Spartak's are Krasnodar (away), Rostov (home), Dynamo (away) and Lokomotiv (away), and Lokomotiv's are Ryazan-VDV (away), Zvezda-2005 (home), CSKA (away) and Spartak (home).
The face-to-face meetings of the contenders in the penultimate and last rounds stand out: Dynamo vs. Spartak on November 9 and Lokomotiv vs. Spartak on November 16. If by that time the situation does not become clear, the outcome of the fight for bronze may turn out to be much more interesting and exciting than even the fight for the champion title between CSKA and Zenit
And in this sense, the role of a catch-up can become an advantage for Dynamo. As often happens in the world of sports, it may be easier to emerge from behind the backs of the leaders and get ahead of them at the finish line than to drag the whole group along and tremble in fear because of the slightest mishap. But in order to take advantage of this chance, the blue-whites also seem to have no right to make a mistake. The number of matches is decreasing, and the gap between rivals even by one victory can be critical for the Dynamo team. Therefore, the saying of many coaches about "every match being a final" becomes more relevant than ever for our team.
Will Sergei Lavrentiev's players be able to withstand such pressure? As always, answers to such questions can only be obtained here and now, that is, in the next game
The game in Perm started without any delay. Within the first minute, the teams exchanged attacks, with the home team having a more dangerous moment.
Overall, it was the Perm players who looked more active at the beginning of the match. It was no coincidence that they created the first scoring opportunity. After an unsuccessful ricochet from Helena Bozic, the ball rolled very slowly towards our goal, fortunately missing the post by inches.
The Dynamo players also had their response ready. First, Elina Samoilova could have closed the pass from the far flank, but she didn't have enough height to fully hit the ball. Then Elena Shesternyova could run out to meet the goalkeeper and either shoot or make a good pass to her teammate. The Dynamo striker chose the second option and rolled the ball to Galina Geybieva, but she hit the goalkeeper Margarita Shirokova. In general, it should be said that the goalkeeper of the Perm team will become the main heroine of the meeting, especially in the second half.
The first half was full of moments, and the opponents threatened each other's goals with almost equal danger, although they also missed their chances equally
Only Olesya Kurochkina, the legend of Perm football, missed her chance to score, and immediately Shesternyova was close to opening the scoring, with Shirokova re-entering the game. By the middle of the half, the score should have been around 2:2. After all, in terms of the number of dangerous moments, the teams played exactly for a draw. But the fact is that the audience did not see goals in such a game.
The second half of the first half remained for Dynamo. This is evidenced by two yellow cards received by Zvezda players Alena Nurgalieva and Liana Kotelnikova literally in one minute, and another goal moment for the Dynamovtsy. This time Kristina Komissarova played well on the rebound and struck right from the 11-meter mark. But — above the crossbar! And here she was unlucky.
At halftime, the teams left with zeros on the scoreboard of Zvezda stadium, and this could be considered a real anomaly. Few people doubted that there would still be goals in the second half
After the break, the game seemed to continue from the point where it was interrupted by the whistle of the chief referee Marina Krupskaya. A moment for Kurochkina, a hit on the crossbar by Elizaveta Sergeichik and... 0 goals — all according to the precepts of the first half.
However, the impression of the game still changed. It became clear how tightly the Perm women sat on the Dynamo goal, moments began to appear one after another, but there were no asymmetric responses from the blue-whites, as it was in the first half.
The Dynamo team and especially its defensive line spent just over 15 minutes in such tension. At some point, it even became interesting how long the Perm players would be able to maintain this pace of play. Perhaps the turning points were two curious moments related to not awarding a penalty kick, which seemingly should not have caused doubts. First, the ball after a cross from the flank hit the hand of Yulia Bessolova, who was in her own penalty area, and then, literally in a return attack, Komissarova was brought down in the Perm penalty area. In both cases, Krupskaya's whistle remained silent. Apparently, the referee of the meeting did not want goals in such a game to be scored from the 11-meter mark
To see a goal from the game, we had to wait another 20 minutes. Before that, the teams exchanged scoring chances once each. In the 70th minute, Elina Samoylova nominated Margarita Shirokova for the save of the tour: the goalkeeper of Zvezda-2005 pulled out a powerful shot from a midfielder of the white-blue team from the far top corner in an incredible way. And in the 78th minute, it was almost a fatal mistake by Arina Taranchenko, who missed the ball after a corner kick and it almost flew into Dynamo's goal like a "dead leaf". Fortunately, it landed not behind the goal line, but behind the touchline.
And here's the paradox: it was worth missing so many opportunities to score throughout the match to decide the outcome of the game in two minutes. Alas, it wasn't our team who did it. Sad marks were recorded in the 82nd and 84th minutes: first, Victoria Eremeeva closed the pass from the right flank and opened the scoring, and a couple of minutes later, Anastasia Shlapakova sent the second one into our goal after an error by Dynamo defenders.
Maybe we wanted to see goals in this meeting, but clearly not into those gates and not in such a crushing style. It is clear that it was somewhat problematic to play back two goals in the remaining more than 10 minutes
The most disappointing thing is that the defeat in Perm has seriously complicated our team's fight for the bronze medals of the Super League.
