Dynamo captain Yulia Bessolova scored a double in the match
The blue and white beat the guests from Samara (3:1) and continued their climb to the top.
Dynamo returns to the big game, having survived another long break from official competitions. This time, fortunately, it was planned. The last official game was played by the Dynamo team three (!) weeks ago. During this time, some Dynamo players managed to go to national teams and make loud noise with them, the club recognized its potential opponents at the first stage of the Winline Russian Cup, and the U-21 youth team finally received a calendar and now knows how it will live in the next couple of months.
In general, it’s not that we have forgotten what is happening there in the Super League without the participation of the Dynamo team, but by the standards of modern football, the pause, of course, was prolonged. It is clear that the missed Super League tour, according to the regulations, interfered with the games of the national teams, but still. The ideal solution to this conflict would, of course, be to include another team in the Super League starting next season, so that the number of participants becomes even and there is no longer any need to miss anything.
Well, for now, let’s return to where we left off almost a month ago and find out: Dynamo is still in the top three! Despite Lokomotiv's victory in the previous round, which the blue and whites missed, they only managed to catch up with Sergei Lavrentiev's team on points (now both teams have 9). But both in terms of additional indicators (Dynamo’s goal difference is 6-0 after three rounds) and in personal meetings (remember the defeat of the railway workers in Novogorsk!) they still outperform Elena Fomina’s team. Considering that in this round Lokomotiv will meet Zenit St. Petersburg in Cherkizovo, there is a chance that the gap between the teams will increase.
However, for this, the Dynamo football players first had to win their match. Yes, they had to do this in competition with the worst team of last season (only one win and a terrible goal difference of 7-88) and so far the main outsider of this championship (3 defeats in the first 3 rounds, 1-13 in goals scored and conceded). But everyone knows how football fortune sometimes turns insidiously in the most seemingly obvious situations. And even more so, plan something in advance. In the modern world, this is real luxury, turning into utopia.

It should be noted right away that for the first time since the beginning of the season, Dynamo's starting line-up has undergone changes: firstly, defender Helena Bozic missed the game due to disqualification, she was replaced in the center of defense by Milena Nikitina, and another change in defense affected the goalkeeper line - instead of Diana Ponomareva, who received rest, Arina Taranchenko received playing time. An understandable decision by the coaching staff of the blue and white, which made the team’s young goalkeeper feel the tension of the Super League.
Despite all the pre-match changes, the hosts of Novogorsk started very confidently: already in the 6th minute, the evil genius of “Krylya Sovetov” Kaylan Williams opened the scoring and scored her fifth goal against the Samara team. Immediately after the goal, it seemed that the match would be, if not easy for Sergei Lavrentyev’s team, then at least without unnecessary hassle, similar to what happened in the previous match with Rostov. But as always, expectations and reality differed a little.
After quick success, the blue and whites switched to economy mode, and the guests, due to great desire and not the greatest skill, tried to create at least something in attack, but mostly fouled, sometimes too roughly. It is no coincidence that already in the first half the Samara football players earned three yellow cards. True, they all stayed in the first half of the match; then Vasily Marunyak’s team did without warnings.
For the blue and white, the main event of the first half was not only the goal of Kaylan Williams, but the injury of Fauzia Najemba already in stoppage time. Unfortunately, the damage to our striker could be serious, since the football player could not even leave the field on her own...
Fauzia Najjemba was unable to continue the game in the second half
In the second half of a really tense match, the main character of the meeting was the captain of the blue and white, Yulia Bessolova. Not only did she lead the team in a difficult moment, but, in fact, she herself made the result. She scored a double and, as the end of the game showed, the winning goal. By the way, it’s important to note that 4 players from, let’s say, the team’s defensive block took part in Dynamo’s three goals: Bessolova scored twice, and Maria Galai, Maria Digurova and Tijana Matic provided assists to her and Williams.
Dynamo's not-so-ideal match with the league outsider was spoiled at the end by a missed goal. Dynamo, who had not conceded in three games in a row, missed the Samara attack in the last seconds of the match and allowed them to score for the first time this season. Perhaps the most offensive person in this situation should be young Arina Taranchenko, who was literally a second away from being a full-fledged “cracker” in the Super League.
However, the victory was won, three difficult points were scored, and the team continues to feel confident in the top 3 of the championship.
