Milena Nikitina scored Dynamo's first goal in the Russian Cup
The opponent of the blue and whites in the 1/8 finals of the tournament has been determined.
For the second time in its history, WFC Dynamo will take part in the Winline Russian Cup. Unlike last season, when the Dynamo team made its debut in the tournament and therefore began its journey from the 1/16 finals, this season the blue and white will start immediately in the 1/8 - as the team that took 5th place in the Super League in the 2023 season.
Dynamo's first opponent in the 1/8 finals of the Winline Russian Cup 2024 is the Football Academy (Tambov). On June 1, the team from Tambov beat the Volgograd sports complex SK Rotor with a score of 10:2.
The meeting will take place in Tambov in early July. The exact date and location of the match will be determined later. The Dynamo main team has not yet met in official matches with the Football Academy.
Just like last year, the national cup draw in the 2024 season will follow the classic scheme:
– teams play one match at home or away in each round
– in case of a draw in regulation time, a series of penalty kicks are awarded
– the losing team is eliminated from the tournament
In case of victory over "Academy of Football" from Tambov, Sergey Lavrentyev's team in the next round may face the two-time winner of the Winline Cup of Russia (2020, 2021) and the bronze medalist of the Super League-2023 – WFC "Lokomotiv", which will play against the club "OSH" from Chelyabinsk on June 7th away.
Before the final, which will take place in October, our girls may face other Super League clubs – WFC "Zenit" (Saint Petersburg), "Yenisey" (Krasnoyarsk), "Rubin" (Kazan), "Chertanovo" (Moscow).
