Dynamo ended the season with a productive victory over Rubin

The blue and white team won in Kazan (4:2) and finished the championship in fifth place.

Three defeats in a row at the end of the season deprived Dynamo of a chance to compete for the first Super League medals in its history. And although the maximum that the blue and white team could count on this year was the bronze of the championship, without a doubt, to collect silver of the Youth League and bronze medals at the highest level within two years would be a huge success for our team. But, alas, this never happened.

Perhaps this was prevented by our opponent in the previous match – Spartak Moscow, a daring newcomer to the Super League, unceremoniously wedged into the fight for medals and now threatening the hegemony of the "big three" in Russian women's football – Zenit, CSKA and Lokomotiv. The very fact that the Spartak team will be higher than the Dynamo team at the end of the championship, plus a series of defeats at the finish line, the end of this season for Dynamo was certainly blurred. But of course, only ourselves should be blamed for this.

However, if we take only the result, it didn't get any worse – Dynamo took fifth place in the championship ahead of schedule and at least repeated its last year's result. Has the team progressed or stayed in the same place? The coaching staff should answer this question after the end of the season. As the blue and white coach Sergei Lavrentiev said after the final whistle in the derby with Spartak: "To sum up, you need to sit down and analyze everything in depth, look at the numbers, understand what happened and what didn't."

And if the summing up is still ahead, then the opportunity to finish this season on a positive note was provided here and now, and it was necessary to use it. Moreover, the opponent was the most suitable for this – the main outsider of the season going down in history.

Dynamo ended the season with a productive victory over Rubin

As expected, the teams, in the absence of tournament motivation, gave out a productive match, in which there were many goals, some of which turned out to be very beautiful, and there was even intrigue at some point. But about everything in order.

If Dynamo fans have already begun to get used to the presence of Anastasia Shervyanina in the starting lineup, then they have just lost the habit of confident leadership of their team in two goals. In the match with the Kazan club, Dynamo football players finally recalled this.

Dynamovka created several scoring chances at once in the first minutes of the match, and eventually scored in the 13th minute. And the central defender Jose-Diana Pamen Tchato did it – she played on the rebound after hitting the crossbar of Lamunat Mustafayeva and accurately shot Elizaveta Sevko on target!

Elina Samoilova was able to secure a great start to the match after 18 minutes. And again the rebound helped, this time from the bar after hitting the head of Kristina Komissarova. 2:0 – it seemed that our girls would not experience any special problems in Kazan. But…

First, Glafira Zhukova, the main scorer of the Kazan team, quickly won back one ball, and then Diana Khakimova equalized the score just before the break. I must say, in both cases, the Dynamo defense was not up to par. Not to say that 2:2 by the break was a deserved result, but the Dynamos also played flawlessly in episodes with missed balls.

The second half, although it did not turn out to be as effective, but it gave no less emotions. The teams created approximately equal amounts of chances, and at some point the hosts were even close to taking the lead for the first time in the match. What are at least two barbells worth, hits in which Dynamo and Rubin exchanged literally in ten minutes!

And yet the class and skill of the Dynamo team should have affected. And our captain made this decisive effort – having received a great pass from Tiyana Matic, Yulia Bessolova brought the blue and white forward for the third time in this match! It is symbolic that the 77th number of Dynamo did it in the 77th minute of the meeting.

But it was Maria Galai's honor to put a beautiful point in the match and the season – in the 85th minute, the blue and white defender took advantage of the rebound from the Kazan football player and scored the fourth Dynamo goal!

It's nice that our team ended a difficult season on a winning note, also pleasing the fans with beautiful goals.
