Maria Galai: "We want to show our worth and win."

The best player of August-September according to the fans of WFC Dynamo — about the latest team results, the upcoming match against Ryazan-VDV and the recent final of the Winline Cup of Russia

**— Fans have voted you the best player of August and September** https://w.fcdm.ru/news/mariia-galai-vtb-igrok-mesiaca-v-avguste-sentiabre/. How do you feel about such polls?

— I think positively. Of course, it's nice when you are chosen.

**— How would you rate your game last month?**

— It's hard for me to evaluate myself, besides, there is always room for dissatisfaction. In this regard, I trust the fans more, because from the outside it is always more visible.

**— Are you satisfied with your game in the last match against Chertanovo?**

— I am satisfied both with my game and with the team's game. At the same time, I repeat, there is still something to work on. This victory is especially valuable because we were down a player, so all the girls did great.

**— How do you assess the performance of the team in the past two months?**

— The second part of the championship has begun, a more responsible segment of the Super League. We have both ups and downs, which teaches us something. Of course, we always want to play better, but we have what we have. I hope that we will win more often in the future.

**— In August, Dynamo played for the first time in a large arena, and you scored a goal, and even against your former team. Will this moment be remembered for a long time?**

I can't say that. We move on: there are upcoming matches to focus on. We need results. There is no point in dwelling on the goal against Lokomotiv, because it didn't bring us victory anyway.

How did you feel at RZD Arena? Was there a feeling that the match was special, considering that you took the field as part of Dynamo football team, not Lokomotiv?

There was a bit of trepidation, so to speak. Of course, it's always nice to play at such large stadiums, for all the girls it's pure pleasure, sheer joy and a completely different quality of football.

I hope there will be even more such matches in the future. I think teams show more spectacular football at these arenas

Maria Galai: "We want to show our worth and win."

— In September, Dynamo won two games and drew one, only two points behind fourth place. Did it get psychologically easier when you started winning?

— We don't have time to relax. We need points in every game, at this stage, each point means a lot. The situation in almost every game can turn either way. We understand all the odds in the standings, we see how other teams play and what chances they have, so there is definitely no chance to relax here.

— Ahead is the match against Ryazan-VDV. What are your thoughts about this team? What kind of football do they play?

— This is a fighting team that fights on every part of the field and fights until the final whistle. A difficult match awaits us, and we are setting up for a fight. We need a victory at any cost.

— Surely, the first round match in Ryazan, when Dynamo snatched victory in the last seconds, must be remembered

Of course, I remember that game very well. It was exciting because of the result, but at the same time, it brought a lot of different emotions, like waves, because we were in a situation where we had to catch up with the opponent instead of holding on to the score.

I guess it's interesting in terms of entertainment, but as a player, I would like the matches for my team to be easier and have more goals scored and standards realized.

What is your mood for the remaining matches of the season? What needs to be done to get the maximum number of points?

We are ready to fight. We really want to show our worth and win.

Are you surprised by the result of the Winline Cup of Russia final? Have you talked to the girls from Loko?

I was at the match. Of course, I was happy for the victory of my friends from Lokomotiv. I am very glad, the girls deserved this trophy. If we talk about the match itself, Lokomotiv showed confident play, won with a good score, and there could have been even more goals.

Do you follow European club football? The Women's Champions League has just started, who do you think is the favorite?

I follow the matches as much as my schedule allows. A couple of days ago, there was an interesting match between Manchester City and Barcelona.

I can't say that I support any particular team. I just generally watch and always expect the final to be unexpected. It's hard to say who is the favorite now. The teams are very evenly matched, everyone is fighting.

Even in the first preliminary stage of the Champions League, dark horses beat the leaders, so I can't tell who will take the trophy this season
