Mikhail Kobyakov: “Once again the quality of implementation let us down”

The head coach of the youth team Dynamo talks about the results of the match with Rostov (1:2).

— Did Rostov's quick goal, scored in the 15th minute, break the team?

— I don't think that the missed goal changed the game much, because in the first half we created a lot of chances, and these chances were really 100%. And before Rostov's goal, we didn't convert a couple of such episodes, and after that there were several similar situations. Judging by the fact that these chances arose, it didn't affect the nature of the game much.

However, both goals were gross mistakes in defense, which, frankly speaking, are difficult to explain, the actions were illogical. In connection with this, we made an early substitution, since our left flank failed both in marking the player and in insurance.

In terms of content, the first half was not bad, if you don't pay attention to the aforementioned mistakes, but the quality of implementation let us down once again. This is our disease.

— What can you say about the second half, especially after we scored a goal? We could have recouped.

— Honestly, our skill level is not the highest. While we are more or less successful in organizing the game, which allows us to create moments and play first, we have problems in those episodes where we need to play quickly and accurately. And this applies not only to the final stage: if the opponent plays tightly, we have problems with accuracy.

Under pressure, we make many more mistakes, and if the game requires action at a high pace, the number of mistakes increases. We are constantly working on this, but so far the progress is not as fast as we would like.
