Mikhail Kobyakov: "We want to show spectacular football"

— The game was difficult again. There were moments, but we couldn’t break through the opponent’s defense. How would you rate this match overall?

— Overall, Krylia built their defense quite competently and deeply, and we didn’t have much free space in front. However, when it appeared, to be honest, we didn’t use it very well precisely because of technical flaws.

Frankly speaking, I’m not very happy with the play of the attacking group. The level of individual actions in the attack was low. Despite the fact that the defense and midfield brought the attacking players into some good positions, the number of losses and poor performance, unfortunately, was off the charts. In this regard, we don’t score our chances, including 100% ones. Penalties are good, you could say we were lucky, but in fact, having a tangible territorial advantage, we don’t realize our chances, and at the end there is a lack of quality actions.

We work on this in training, of course, but in my opinion, some players need to raise their standards.

— This is the first victory for the youth team since May. Will it be easier psychologically now?

— Maybe it will have an effect psychologically. The question is different — in almost every game we show meaningful football. We don’t have problems like bad play, or the opponent destroys us on the field, or we just fight back. We showed good football against all teams, even the leading ones, we don’t have major defeats.

Those defeats that happened were due to gross individual errors. Therefore, I don’t think that we have problems of a psychological nature. The problem is that we lack the level of skill, which we are working hard on. Of course, we would like this skill to appear a little faster, because painstaking work is being done, and many girls work well in the training process.

— So, in training, you will continue to focus on attacking actions?

— We want to show spectacular football. We don't want to play "hit and run" or park the bus. The management demands the same from us. During the game, we work out some schemes and substitutions, changes of positions, that is, complex things.

We understand that this takes time, but time is running out and we would like to see some results.
