The white-blues were unable to recoup their losses away from home against the Youth League favourites (0:1).
On Sunday, the Dynamo youth team met their peers from Krasnodar in the 13th round of the final stage of the Youth League. The match was held at the Malaya Arena in Krasnodar. The weather in the south of the country remains truly summery, but a strong wind did not allow them to fully enjoy the sun.
Speaking of the hosts, Krasnodar is the only team that can still compete with Moscow Lokomotiv in the battle for gold. The Krasnodar team was seven points behind the first line before the meeting with the white-blues. Dynamo is one of the few teams that was able to take points from the southerners. The first meeting of the teams in Moscow ended in a goalless draw.
Some Dynamo football players missed the match for medical reasons. But Tanya Malesia was sent to help the younger Dynamo players, taking a place in the center of defense. It seemed that from the first minutes Krasnodar, as the favorites, should completely lead the game, but our girls had completely different plans. The initiative alternately passed from one to the other, the game was increasingly played on opposite courses.
The first dangerous moment happened in the 15th minute, but then goalkeeper Anastasia Shchervyanina played great, intercepting the ball after a cross. Dynamo football players responded almost immediately. It was a good combination, after which Valeria Azeeva came out in a striking position. Krasnodar goalkeeper Vera Sanzharovskaya was also on the alert.
In the 20th minute, confusion in our penalty area could have led to a goal. But then Lady Luck herself decided to stand up for the Dynamo players. Two shots from the opponents in a row - and the ringing of the crossbar twice deafened the stadium. The ball decided that it was not yet time to fly into the goal net. By the middle of the first half, the game was becoming more and more chaotic: there was too much fuss on the part of both teams.
In the 26th minute, Anastasia Orlova sent the ball into the penalty area with a good scoop, where Varvara Rubtsova received the ball and shot it into the bottom corner - the goalkeeper was in place again.
And already in the next attack, the opponents still managed to open the scoring in the match. Milena Boldyreva found herself practically one-on-one with Shchervyanina and outplayed the Dynamo goalkeeper.
After the goal, the game calmed down a bit and there were no more dangerous moments before the break.
From the first minutes of the second half, Ksenia Skotnikova entered the game, replacing Valeria Shilnova.
In the 60th minute, Orlova decided to take a long shot - and for good reason. The shot was accurate and powerful, right under the crossbar. Unfortunately for us, the home team's goalkeeper was able to deflect it into a corner.
A few moments later, Nastya Shchervyanina came to the fore, pulling the ball out of the near bottom corner. Our goalkeeper did not stop there. In the next episode, after going one-on-one, the goalkeeper of the white-blues again saved her team from a second missed goal.
Closer to the end of the match, Daria Popova and Diana Faskhutdinova entered the game instead of Rubtsova and Ryzhikh. It was noticeable that the Dynamo players were tired, and the initiative passed to their opponents from Krasnodar. Nevertheless, the actions of the Dynamo defense are worth special words of praise. Dynamo did not allow their opponents to score more. But they themselves were not able to equalize either.
The result of the meeting: a good game by our girls, but, unfortunately, a minimal defeat from Krasnodar.
