Fauzia Najjemba is the main specialist in successful dribbles at Dynamo and one of the best in the entire league
It seemed like the season had just begun, and half of the championship had already been played. It's time to sum up the statistical results of the first round of the Super League for our team.
How successful it was for Dynamo, the data from the RuStat platform will help us understand.
Team statistics
“Dynamo” passed the first round (12 rounds) with a record of 8 wins – 1 draw – 3 losses – this is the team’s best result during its performances at the highest level. Last season, the blue and white suffered 4 defeats in 11 Super League matches, and this season they suffered 3 defeats in 12 games.
If we take into account the 2022 season in the Youth League, in which Dynamo made its debut in Russian women’s football, then the indicators there after the first round are also inferior to the current ones: 7 wins – 2 draws – 3 losses.
In terms of the number of victories (8), Dynamo shares third place with Lokomotiv, only CSKA (11) and Zenit (10) have more.
Both in terms of goals scored and goals conceded, Sergei Lavrentyev’s team is in 5th place - Dynamo’s goal difference after the first round is 18-9. This result is much superior to last year: then, after the first round, the blue and white had a goal difference of 15-14. Dynamo ranks 5th in the league in terms of goals per match (1.5).
This season, Dynamo set a record unbeaten streak in the Super League - 8 matches in a row without defeat (7 wins, 1 draw). The team did not lose for 2.5 months - from March 10 to May 24. The series of victories also set a record: 5 games in a row. Last season, the maximum unbeaten and winning streak was 4 matches. And this is for the entire season, and a new record was set in the first round of the 2024 Super League!
In the first round of this season, Dynamo won its first victory in its history over a club representing the “big three” of the Russian championship. On March 16, in Novogorsk, the blue and whites defeated Lokomotiv Moscow (3:0). Before this victory, the blue and white could not win against top clubs for 9 matches: 9 defeats from Lokomotiv, Zenit and CSKA with a total goal difference of 3:26...
Dynamo plays better on the road than at home: in the first round of this season, the blue and white won 4 matches on the road and suffered only one defeat. Dynamo also won 4 matches at home, but tied once and lost two games.
At the same time, Dynamo scores less away, but also concedes less than at home: 7-3 away versus 11-6 at home.
Dynamo forward Kaylan Williams and her team played one of the best matches in the first round against Lokomotiv Moscow.
In terms of the number of scoring chances, Dynamo ranks 5th (54) and is behind CSKA (93), Zenit (90), Lokomotiv (89) and Spartak (74). The blue and white are in the top five in terms of scoring chances per match on average (4.5).
Another top indicator for Dynamo is 4th place in the league in the number of successful dribbles (229). Here we are even ahead of CSKA (227), but behind Lokomotiv (299), Chertanovo (279) and Spartak (274). Dynamo players make an average of 19 dribbles per match! In total, the Dynamo players made 432 dribbles in the first round - this is the 5th indicator in the entire championship.
Sergei Lavrentyev's team not only dribbles a lot and successfully, but also rebounds well: 60% of tackles are successful - this is 4th place in the league.
Dynamo Moscow is the leader in terms of own goal kicks - 135. Clubs from the “Big Three” are at the very bottom in terms of this indicator: CSKA (68), Lokomotiv (67), Zenit (59). Interestingly, 98 of these shots were made by blue and white goalkeeper Diana Ponomareva - this is the 2nd figure in the entire league.
The blue and white are in 5th place in the percentage of accurate passes (74%), in 3rd place in key passes (85), in 4th place in accurate key passes (35) and progressive passes (1122).
Dynamo is in the top 5 in terms of the percentage of successful duels in defense (56%). In the same top are Zenit, Lokomotiv, CSKA, Zvezda 2005. But in terms of the number of single combats in attack, the blue and white ranks 3rd (1152), only Loko and Spartak have more. Dynamo's leader in this indicator, Kaylan Williams, is in the top 5 of the entire league (191).
There are also some not-so-pleasant numbers. Thus, Dynamo ranks one of the last places in the league in terms of the number of corners earned: in 12 matches, the blue and whites earned only 34 corners. Only Chertanovo (32), Rubin (30) and Enisey (24) have fewer. The leader in this indicator, WFC CSKA, has 81 earned corners!
Dynamo is in the top 5 in terms of the number of losses (987). Among them - 333 losses of the ball in their own half of the field. This is the third indicator in the league! Only Chertanovo (394) and Yenisei (375) are worse. It’s interesting that the most losses in the first round were committed by one of the leaders of the season, Lokomotiv (1018).
Maria Digurova is one of the toughest and most uncompromising defenders in the championship
Individual statistics
Fauzia Najjemba is the main dribbler of the team: she has 49 successful dribbles out of 80 completed (61% successful). According to this indicator, the blue and white forward is third in the first round. Elena Shesterneva is 8th on this list, she has 51% successful dribbles (69 in total).
Maria Galai is the most irreplaceable player not only of Dynamo, but of the entire championship in the first round. The blue and white defender spent 1,153 minutes on the field - no one else played in this championship! Elina Samoilova is also in the top 10 in terms of the number of minutes on the field - 1147 minutes played and 6th place in the league for this indicator.
Dynamo's top scorers in the first round are Kaylan Williams (4 goals + 1 assist) and Kristina Komissarova (4 goals). The leader of the scoring race is Zenit midfielder Gabriela Grzywinska (8 goals). If we take the “goal+assist” indicator, then Williams’ competition (4+1) is Elena Shesterneva – she has 2 goals + 3 assists.
In the top 10 most fouling football players of the first round there are two Dynamo football players – defender Helena Bozic (25 fouls, 7th place) and midfielder Yulia Bessolova (20 fouls, 9th place).
But in the list of players who are most often violated by opponents, Elena Shesterneva is in 4th place - she was fouled 32 times in the first round.
At the same time, 3 Dynamo football players are in the top ten players by the number of warnings received: Shesterneva (4 yellow cards), Bozic and Maria Digurova (3 each). Bozic also has one deletion: she is one of 9 Super League players who received a red card in the first round.
Yulia Bessolova is Dynamo’s leader and third in the overall list of players in terms of the number of key passes (19). Shesterneva with 12 key passes is in 9th place. But the leader in long passes (60), Bozic, ranks 2nd in the entire league in this indicator.
But Elina Samoilova is the best in Dynamo in terms of rebounds (113). According to this indicator, she is 8th in the championship.
Dynamo defender Maria Galai spent the most time on the field in the first round
In terms of the number of shots saved, Diana Ponomareva takes 3rd place in the league based on the results of the first round - she has 38 repelled shots (86% of shots saved). It is not surprising that the Dynamo goalkeeper is one of the leaders in the number of saves made: 6 saves and 6th place in this indicator among all Super League goalkeepers who played in the first round.
Diana is also the leader of the entire league in hand passes (46 – 96% accurate).
Since Dynamo is one of the fewest teams conceding in the first round (9 goals in 12 matches), the blue and white goalkeepers are accordingly among the top most reliable in the league. Thus, Arina Taranchenko conceded 3 goals in 3 matches, and Diana Ponomareva – 6 goals in 9 games.
Dynamo's main goalkeeper is one of the best passers. Ponomareva made 279 assists, which is 7th in the entire league. Of these passes, 231 were accurate (83%) - which is already the 6th highest figure among all goalkeepers in the championship.
