Team status

In the previous round, our team played the fourth match in a row in its native capital region - this time against Lokomotiv Moscow in Cherkizovo. The leader of the Youth League standings before the meeting with Dynamo showed a 100% result: the team under the leadership of ex-Dynamo coach Nikolai Kovardaev won 8 victories in 8 matches, conceded only 3 goals, and scored 48 - exactly 6 goals on average per game! Considering the far from best form that the Dynamo team is currently in, expectations before the match were alarming.

On the field, everything turned out to be far from so scary. Of course, as favorites, the hosts seized the initiative and the ball from the very first minutes, but the guests did not sit back on the defensive, but launched several interesting attacks on Ksenia Agapkina’s goal. At the same time, Dynamo’s attacking game was based on Ekaterina Sergeeva and Daniella Petrova, who played in the center of the field.

The Dynamo looked especially interesting in the middle of the first half, when the game took place in Loko's half of the field, and the railway workers made more mistakes, kicked the ball out of bounds and passed back passes. However, despite the large number of chances, the first half was goalless.

In the second half, Loko improved their ball control and passing accuracy, and began to push more and more pressure at Anastasia Shchervyanina’s goal – there were shots, entries into the penalty area, and successful corners. It was very dangerous a couple of times, but the blue and white defense coped with its task. In fact, the game went on until the first scoring chance, and this moment happened in the 74th minute. The hosts dispersed the attack on the left flank, the ball ended up with the lonely Sofia Stelmakhova, who shot through the center and brought her team ahead - 1:0. Immediately after the goal, the red-greens literally unleashed a barrage of attacks on Shchervyanina’s goal, which is why Dynamo had to fight back and practically forget about the attack.

Unfortunately, in the last minutes of the game, Blue and White midfielder Nicole Greuli was seriously injured. So much so that the captain couldn’t even leave the field on her own.

In the remaining time, it was not possible to create anything offensively, and in a game that was generally good in terms of content, the Dynamo team suffered, albeit minimally, a defeat (0:1).

— In terms of defense, most of our ideas were implemented quite efficiently. We didn’t have big gaps, there was a lot of density, we basically created big problems for Lokomotiv to attack, and they didn’t have many chances. In this regard, this is a positive thing, plus we physically withstood most of the match.

However, we didn’t play very well in attack - we still can’t score goals and we have a lot of technical defects in the attacking phase, — the head coach of the youth team of the Dynamo Football Club Mikhail Kobyakov summed up the results of the match in Cherkizovo.

In turn, blue and white forward Ekaterina Sergeeva noted that the team did not have enough chances created in the positional attack:

— We defended a lot and didn’t value the ball. They took the ball and immediately lost it. There were many losses and there was not enough positional attack. We held the line, but we didn't have enough shots, serves and ultimately a goal.

I think that our team is capable of a lot - if we tune in and are one unit, we can beat anyone.

However, the defeat from Lokomotiv was the third in a row for our team and extended the winless streak in the Youth League to 5 matches (4 losses, one draw). The blue and white have not won since May 12 (7:0 Sochi), and in the five games since then they have scored only 2 goals.

And if only one point separates Dynamo from its closest rivals (Master-Saturn, Krylia Sovetov, Rubin), then it is already 11 from Spartak, which is in 5th place.

About the opponent and his super-scorers, the history of the confrontation, the refereeing team

The blue and white's opponent in the 4th round, the youth team of the Krasnodar Sports Club, has existed since 2020 and can already boast of serious success. So, in their debut season, the Krasnodar youth team took part in the First Division and became its winner.

The next season was no less successful: in 2021, the “city girls” won the Krasnodar Territory Cup, and in the Youth League, where the Krasnodar team began playing exactly that season, they took 3rd place and won bronze medals. In the 2022 season, the black and green also showed good results: 5th place with 13 participants, won a record 13 victories and scored 44 points.

In the 2023 season, the young Krasnodar players were able to repeat their success of two years ago: at the preliminary stage, the team led by Evgeniy Ptashnikov took 2nd place in Group B, and at the final stage, they suffered only one defeat (from CSKA) and, in a bitter struggle, were able to snatch bronze medals for the capital's Lokomotiv, beating them in the last round at the Sapsan Arena (2:0)! And the team from the south of Russia was only 4 points behind the champions and vice-champions (CSKA and Zenit, respectively).

This season Krasnodar is not just successful, but truly great. The team of the same Ptashnikov is a real competitor to the main favorites of the season: Lokomotiv, CSKA and Zenit. Right now, Krasnodar is two points ahead of Zenit in the standings, and they are level with CSKA and Loko on points (all three have 15 each), occupying 3rd place and trailing them only in additional indicators.

Moreover, Krasnodar has not yet made a single misfire during this season: 9 victories in 9 matches, 7 of them defeating the opponent! And even among them, two incredible and record-breaking results for the entire Youth League stand out: victories over Voronezh “Fakel” - 24:0 and 14:0! Yes, until now the Krasnodar team has not met with any of the championship favorites, or even with any Moscow club, but such a series of victories in any case inspires respect.

Of course, with such results, Krasnodar would have been the main scoring club this season, but according to the regulations, when moving to the second stage, many results of the meetings were not taken into account, so now it has lost the status of the most scoring team in the league to Lokomotiv. However, this may be temporary, considering how many southerners scored already at the final stage - 12 goals in three matches against Rubin, Rostov and Master-Saturn.

It is not surprising that in the list of top scorers of the Youth League 2024, the first lines are occupied by representatives of talented Krasnodar youth:

– defender Alena Panteleeva (19 years old) and midfielder Adelina Pestretsova (17 years old) – 9 goals each;

– midfielder Yulia Beletskaya (16 years old) and forward Sofia Denisko (15 years old) – 8 goals each.

Unfortunately, Dynamo cannot boast of such a scoring extravaganza - the blue and white team scored only 2 goals in three rounds of the final stage, and the main Dynamo scorers of the season - forwards Galina Geibieva and Kristina Yakovenko - scored 3 goals each. But Mikhail Kobyakov’s team had rivals unlike those from Krasnodar: CSKA, Spartak, Lokomotiv.

The history of head-to-head matches is also in favor of the guests from the south - Dynamo cannot yet beat the Krasnodar youth team: 2 defeats, 2 draws, goal difference 4-8. What is curious is that so far all meetings with Krasnodar have turned out the same way for the blue and white: in 2022 there was a draw in Krasnodar (1:1) and a defeat in Novogorsk (1:3), in 2023 there was a draw in Krasnodar (0:0) and defeat in Novogorsk (2:4)! By the way, the match, which ended with Krasnodar winning 4:2, turned out very dramatically for our team: having conceded two goals in the first half, the Dynamo team first came back with a score of 0:2 (Anastasia Orlova and Valeria Azeeva scored within 2 minutes), and then the Krasnodar team hit Arina Taranchenko’s goal twice more. This Sunday our girls will have to try very hard to finally break this vicious circle on the third try.

The new, already fifth, meeting of two clubs within the Youth League, which will take place in Novogorsk, will be served by a refereeing team led by Nailya Khasanova, who will be assisted by assistant referees Ekaterina Pavlenko (Kostroma) and Yana Zemskova (Samara).

Previously, Khasanova had already worked at Dynamo matches: in the Youth League - against Zenit (0:2) and CSKA (1:0); in the Super League - against Chertanovo (0:2), Zvezda-2005 (1:0) and Ryazan-VDV (3:2).

Dynamo’s balance of victories and defeats under Khasanova’s refereeing: 5 matches – 3 wins, 2 losses, goal difference 5-6.
