Team status

The final stage of the Youth League, in which 10 teams compete for medals at once, was opened by the blue and white on the road against one of the main favorites of the season - WFC CSKA. The current champions of the youth championship are considered the main contenders for victory in the tournament this year. Before the meeting with the blue and white, Kirill Shestakov’s team won 6 victories in 6 matches in the group stage, conceded very few goals (only 3 goals) and scored a monstrously large number (32)!

The young army team began to prove the validity of their intentions from the first minutes of the match against Dynamo. Less than five minutes had passed before they opened the scoring through the efforts of their forward Anastasia Samsonyuk. In general, the entire first half was unsuccessful for Mikhail Kobyakov’s team: before the break, the army players sent two more goals into Arina Taranchenko’s goal and, in fact, decided for themselves the question of the winner of this game.

However, the second half of the meeting can be considered an asset for the Dynamo team. For the second half, she came out noticeably refreshed: during the break, the coaching staff replaced Polina Golubeva and Galina Geibieva with Ulyana Ryzhikh and Polina Kolesnikova, and even before the break, Valeria Azeeva left the field, who gave way to Ksenia Skotnikova. Despite such drastic changes in the lineup, our girls adequately resisted the favorite of the season: they did not allow the army team to score more, but in response they still broke through the super-reliable army defense and won the second half. The only goal for the blue and white team was scored by Taisiya Razvorotneva with a beautiful shot from outside the penalty area in the 71st minute. For her, this goal was her second for Dynamo this season.

In the remaining time, the teams exchanged dangerous attacks, but the spectators of the sister derby saw no more goals.

— Apparently, it was not possible to convey to everyone that the game will have a high tempo and we need to rebuild faster. We were late in changing formations, thanks to which CSKA regularly opened up our flanks. These mistakes led to an early goal and further chances at our goal, plus some players, due to objective circumstances (illnesses and micro-injuries), could not play to one hundred percent of their capabilities. The second half was better, although not perfect.

The fact that we will play with all opponents of CSKA level is very good. And today we tried to play to win, we didn’t go out with our hands up, it was just mistakes that led to us conceding goals. Such matches are a good opportunity for our girls to improve. Such teams will help us progress, — head coach of the Dynamo youth team Mikhail Kobyakov shared his impressions of the match.

The author of the only Dynamo goal against the Youth League champions, Taisiya Razvorotneva, analyzed the results of the derby from the point of view of a direct participant in the game on the field:

— Initially, we started the first half well - we put pressure on the opponent, carried out attacks, but after the first goal we collapsed. Someone lowered their head, and since we are a team, everyone went dark. This could not be done. You could say that we gave up a little, got lost, started to restructure incorrectly due to emotions, thereby losing zones, and the opponents launched their attacks more often.

I liked the second half because we followed the coach’s instructions. At half-time they gave us some tips and then we were in the lead, even winning the half. We had many chances, we could have put the pressure on the opponent and scored, but, unfortunately, we got tired, plus the weather made itself felt - our legs were cramping. However, in the second half we were a single team.

The defeat from CSKA still leaves the blue and white out of the fight for medals: our team is now separated by a solid 9 points from the group of leaders who have never lost points (Lokomotiv, CSKA, Krasnodar, Zenit). However, it is, of course, too early to say that medals are becoming unattainable. The teams haven’t played, in fact, even half of the season – there are still 15 matches ahead that could radically change the situation in the championship.

About the opponent, young stars, history of the confrontation, refereeing team

The white-and-blue's opponent in the 2nd round – the capital's "Spartak" – is a debutant club in the Youth League, but not a newcomer to Russian women's football. In essence, this is already the third version of the women's football club in red-and-white colors. The previous two appeared in different eras of our country's life, lived their short lives brightly, and disappeared from the football map of Russia.

For the first time, the women's football team "Spartak" was created back in the Soviet Union – in 1989. Since then, the team has ceased to exist twice and has been revived twice. We tell the history of the Spartak women's club in more detail in the preview of the main teams' match between "Dynamo" and "Spartak," which, by the calendar's will, will also meet soon – on June 16th in the 12th round of the Super League.

In its current form, WFC "Spartak" appeared in January 2022, when the creation of a youth women's team was announced, which participated in the First League and took 3rd place in the "Moscow" zone. Later, in October 2023, it was announced that the main team appeared in the structure of the women's football club "Spartak." It included players from the youth team, who still play for both teams.

Despite being debutants in the Youth League, the young Spartak players are already showing good results in their first season. Under the leadership of Ivan Kvasov, who previously worked with the youth team of WFC "Ryazan-VDV," the team, although not without difficulty, took first place in group "B," ahead of the youth teams of "Master-Saturn," "Chertanovo," and "Ural." Moreover, the red-and-whites did not lose once: they have 3 wins and 3 draws, with a goal difference of 8-2, and kept a clean sheet in 4 out of 6 games!

The Spartak girls also started the second stage of the youth championship successfully – with a confident home victory over "Rostov" (3:1). There are already some rising stars in the Spartak youth team. Thus, 19-year-old forward Elizaveta Petrun'kina and 21-year-old midfielder Kristina Petkus scored two goals each in the Youth League, and a whole group of players is actively involved in training and games of the main team in the Super League: 21-year-old Ksenia Kuleshova and the same Petkus played 2 matches for the main team, 19-year-old Ksenia Konovaeva – 5 games.

So it's not surprising that right now the Spartak youth team is one of the contenders for medals. The red-and-whites have already earned 7 points and are in 5th place in the Youth League standings, just two points behind the championship leaders and essentially one victory away from the top. Therefore, there is no doubt that the first-ever women's derby between "Dynamo" and "Spartak" will be super emotional and heated!

By the way, speaking of the history of the confrontation between "Dynamo" and "Spartak" in women's football, the two clubs have already met at an unofficial level – and then it was also the youth teams. On February 17th of this year, the youth teams played a friendly match during the preseason training in Turkey: "Dynamo" won with a score of 2:0, with goals from Taisiya Razvorotneva and Daniella Petrova. Whether the Spartak girls will take their revenge in an official game, we will find out next Friday.

The historic meeting of the two clubs within the Youth League, which will take place in Novogorsk, will be officiated by a referee team led by Yulia Veselova (Moscow region), assisted by lineswomen Anastasia Tisova and Valeria Datsenko (both from Moscow).

Previously, Veselova has already officiated "Dynamo" matches: in the Youth League – against WFC "Ryazan-VDV" (2:0), "Ural" (2:1), "Krasnodar" (0:0) and "Zvezda-2005" (1:0); in the Super League – against WFC "Zvezda-2005" (1:3).

The balance of victories and defeats for "Dynamo" with Veselova officiating: 5 matches – 3 wins, one draw, one defeat, a goal difference of 6-4.
