Team status

The previous match in Novogorsk was the second derby in a row for Sergey Lavrentiev's wards – only this time against Spartak. And although there was no rivalry between the two teams in the fight for third place, Dynamo lost its chances for bronze medals a round earlier, no one canceled the derby status. And with it the intensity that such matches are usually accompanied by.

The first thing that caught my eye even before the starting whistle was the changes in the Dynamo goal line: for the first time I took a place in the goal of the main teamAnastasia Shervyanina, and there was an 18-year-old in reserveMaria Leontieva, who was in the main team's application for the first time. Such serious changes were explained simply: the main goalkeepers of the blue and white Diana Ponomareva andArina Taranchenko came down with a high fever before the match, and therefore could not help the team.

Despite such unforeseen circumstances, the Dynamo team opened the first score in the match. Already in the 15th minute, the blue and white famously caught the opponents on the counterattack: she ran away with the ballTiyana Matic, gave a cutting transfer toCamilla Abashilova, and she laid out perfectly on Elena Shesterneva, who sent the ball with her head into an empty net.

True, the Dynamos didn't have to rejoice at such a successful start for long. Less than 10 minutes after the Dynamo goal, the Spartacists equalized the score. Serbian Tiyana Filipovic, who eventually became the main character of the meeting, having her back to our goal, could not think of anything better than to elegantly send the ball with her heel past Shervyanina. As it turned out, it was only the beginning of the show performed by the Spartak midfielder.

Less than five minutes later, she also took advantage of the inconsistency of the Dynamo defenders and jumped out one-on-one with the goalkeeper of the blue and white. Bringing her team forward became a matter of technique for the Serbian.

Our girls did not manage to leave for a break and with a minimum lag in the score. The restless Filipovich again took everything into her own hands and feet and created another masterpiece: this time with a long-range shot into the far corner of Anastasia Shervyanina's goal.

Surprisingly, the start of the second half of the match almost repeated the start of the match. Since it started with a Dynamo goal. In the 49th minute, Kaylan Williams, who played her 50th match for Dynamo, famously received a transfer from Yulia Bessolova and with billiard accuracy sent him to the far corner of Spartak's goal! And so she revived the intrigue in the match.

The blue and white could finally return to the game in a few minutes. But – literally from a meter Elena Shesterneva did not hit the target and she did not believe in her mistake.

It is not surprising that it became nervous on the field in Novogorsk, although there were no super-dangerous moments. The tension reached its peak in the middle of the second half, when at first the Spartak head coach Vadim Kozlov received a warning for long disputes with the referee Kristina Dushkova, and then the red and white scored their fourth goal. The same Tiyana Filipovic passed on the left flank to Abashilov, shifted to the center of the penalty area and shot exactly into the corner – 2:4 and poker of the Serbian football player Spartak. In order to revive the intrigue again, the blue and white had neither the time nor the energy.

— Of course, no one wanted to give in. We played two very difficult matches with CSKA and Spartak and, of course, the desire to win is always present. Unfortunately, this does not always work out.

To sum up the season, you need to sit down and analyze everything in depth, look at the numbers, understand what happened and what didn't. Of course, we understand that the losses of key players turned out to be irreparable, because for most of the first round we were in second or third place. Yes, the loss of players has become a problem for us – we began to distort the composition, but even in this case it is worth proceeding from the realities, commented on the result of the derby with Spartak, the head coach of the Dynamo Sports and Sports Complex Sergey Lavrentiev.

If Spartak continued its pursuit of Lokomotiv and the bronze medals of the Super League, then Dynamo suffered its third defeat in a row and a round before the end of the championship finally established itself in fifth place in the standings.

About the opponent

On Saturday, the blue and white will play away with Rubin Kazan, the main outsider of this season. And, unfortunately for Kazan fans, not only the current one.

Despite the fact that the team from the capital of Tatarstan was founded back in January 2021 and is already completing its fourth season in the Super League, its best achievement remains 9th place in the 2022 season. However, this result can also be considered a conditional achievement: only 10 teams took part in that Super League draw.

In the other three seasons, the women's "Rubin" performed about the same way: the debut season-2021 – 10- 2nd place (out of 10 teams), season-2023 – 11- e (out of 12), season-2024 – 13- e (out of 13). That is, formally, the performance and the final place this season were the worst result for the Kazan team in its so far short history.

Mars Sakhabutdinov's wards have only two wins and two draws in the 2024 Super League. The few injured Cossacks were "Wings of the Soviets" (victory and draw), "Rostov" (victory) and ... "Locomotive", which played a draw (1:1) in Kazan in the middle of summer. There was also a victory over Master Saturn (2:1) in the 1/16 Winline Cup of Russia, but in this tournament it all ended pretty quickly for the Cossacks: in 1/8 they lost at home to Chertanovo (0:1).

It is not surprising that with such results, Rubin is one of the worst teams in terms of the number of goals scored and conceded in the league. So, in terms of goals scored (16), the Kazan club is ahead only of Yenisei (14) and Krylia Sovetov (13), but in terms of missed goals it is far behind even other outsiders: in 23 matches, the Kazan women conceded 61 goals, that is, an average of 2.65 goals per game. The closest rival in this indicator is Ryazan-Airborne Forces (45 goals conceded).

Interestingly, exactly half of the goals scored by Rubin belong to the main scorer of the team from Kazan – Glafira Zhukova. The 21-year–old striker is generally the best in the goal + pass system: she has 8 goals and 2 assists. For comparison: the second in this indicator in the team – 22-year–old striker Polina Dolmatova - scored 2 + 2.

As for the personal meetings of Rubin and Dynamo, the situation here is depressing for the Cossacks – 3 defeats in 3 matches against the blue and white. The game of the first round this season in Novogorsk ended with a confident victory for Dynamo (2:0) thanks to two goals scored by Fauzia Nazhemba and Elina Samoilova in the first half.

And although the last match of the season will not affect the location of the teams in the standings in any way – Dynamo will remain in 5th place, Rubin in 13th - they are quite capable of finding motivation for themselves. Blue and white can interrupt a series of three defeats in a row, and Rubin, on the contrary, extend the winning to two matches and postpone it to the next season. And no one will refuse to finish a difficult season on a winning note.
