Team status

The previous match, in which the blue-and-whites hosted Krasnodar in Novogorsk, took place three weeks ago, at the end of June. In the 4th round of the final stage of the Youth League, the Dynamo players had to face one of the leaders of the season, who had not lost points before this meeting at all. Moreover, the Krasnodar team is currently one of the most productive teams of the season: in 9 starting matches, the Krasnodars scored 64 goals and conceded only 4. All the more surprising was the final score of the match with Dynamo in Novogorsk.

Already in the first minutes, the players coached by Mikhail Kobyakov showed that they did not want to yield anything to the powerful guests from Krasnodar: the Dynamo girls played tenaciously in midfield, constantly escalated the situation near the opponent’s goal and generally looked more interesting.

In the first half, the blue-and-white created several moments that, with some luck, could have ended successfully for our girls: situations near the Krasnodar goal arose with Milena Nikitina, Galina Geybieva, Valeria Azeeva, and Taisiya Razvorotneva.

We must pay tribute to our guests. They also searched for their opportunities and, admittedly, found them: there was a very dangerous shot by Karatayeva over the crossbar in the middle of the half, and in the 32nd minute, the Krasnoark women played a great free kick, which ended with a shot on the post.

Nevertheless, the busy first half went without goals.

The second half began as brightly and actively as the first. Again, the guests could open the scoring — in the 48th minute, Arina Taranchenko saved the day, reflecting the shot well. The game still went without midfield — attacking football reigned on the Novogorsk field. Gradually, the southerners took the initiative, largely due to the fact that they were not shy about fouling, and the substitutions that the Krasnodar coaching staff also made at the beginning of the second half.

By the 65th minute, the possession of the guests became tangible. Taranchenko had to enter the game again and again, demonstrating miracles of jumping ability and keeping the Dynamo goal shut despite the fact that at the end of the meeting, the Krasnodar women threw all their strength to score and snatch victory away from home. Krasnodar’s best chance was in injury time, but the opponent’s shot never reached its target.

As a result, the game ended with an amazing score for such a game — 0:0. Dynamo gained their first points in the second stage, while Krasnodar lost them for the first time in this championship.

— I think we played quite actively in attack, which did not work out in previous matches. The girls who came from the main team helped us a lot in this. Galya Geybieva gave a huge amount of effort, Milena Nikitina connected well on the left flank. All other girls gave one of their best games. My opinion is that today was our best game in terms of content, dedication, pace, and in every respect.

Step by step, we are still gaining, which we strive for. Probably, today was such a day when we managed to show what we are working on. It’s a pity that we didn’t win, but the opponents were also strong. I really liked the game, — Mikhail Kobyakov, head coach of the Dynamo women’s youth team, summed up the results of the match after the final whistle.

Captain of the blue and white, defender Ulyana Ryzhikh, shared her feelings about the game:

— From the first minutes it was clear that we play as a single team, a single organism. Everyone supported each other, worked hard, the girls are great. Difficult weather conditions, but we went through it all together.

As they say, discipline beats class. Everyone adjusted well, ran in defense, and due to everyone helping each other, we were able to gain our first points in the second stage.

A draw with Krasnodar, on the one hand, extended Dynamo’s winless streak in the Youth League: now it is 6 matches (4 defeats, 2 draws). On the other hand, it allowed them to gain their first point in the final stage of the youth championship, where the best teams of the season compete. Moreover, they managed to do it in a game against one of the contenders not only for medals but also for the championship title.

All this gives reasons for restrained optimism and gives hope that after the break, Mikhail Kobyakov’s team will finally break their unsuccessful series of games without wins and will score points regularly. The first opportunity to do this is in the next match against Rubin Kazan.

Moreover, good news regarding replenishments in the squad arrived in time for the match with Kazan: Varvara Rubtsova and Anna Sugrobova recovered from injuries and will be included in the application for the match against Rubin.

Also, our youth team was joined by striker Daria Popova. The 16-year-old player has been playing for FC Krasnodar since 2021 and became a bronze medalist of the YFL-girls (2022) and Youth League (2023) as part of the Krasnodar club.

About the opponent, history of the confrontation, refereeing team

The blue and white's opponent in the 5th round, the youth team of the Rubin Sports Club, has existed since 2021, when the women's team was founded in Kazan. However, the young Kazan women did not take part in the 2021 Youth League season, but made their debut in the youth championship in 2022. Just like Dynamo, by the way. True, unlike the blue and white, which won silver medals in their debut season, the team from Kazan finished in 10th place among 13 participants in that Youth League season.

The next season, Rubin performed better – both last year’s and Dynamo’s youth team. The Kazan team took 3rd place in its group, losing only to CSKA and Lokomotiv, and reached the final stage 1-8. Let us remind you that the teams that took places from 1st to 8th at the preliminary stage played there, and they fought for the championship and medals. Our team did not make it into the top eight last season. At the final stage, the Kazan football players did not perform as brilliantly as at the preliminary stage, and eventually finished the championship in 7th place. Nevertheless, the Kazan women can definitely count last season as an asset.

This season, Rubin again made it to the final stage, where the 10 best teams from the preliminary stage are playing this year. Kazanka took second place in their Group A, losing to Lokomotiv and ahead of Orenburg and Zvezda 2005. But at stages 1-10, the Kazan football players are still far from even repeating their last year’s result: they have not yet won a single victory and are only on the 9th line of the tournament table.

The Kazan women are approaching the meeting with Dynamo with a 6-match winless streak: 4 defeats - 2 draws. The last time the Rubies won was on May 10 – they defeated Orenburg at home (4:0). By the way, this victory remains the only home victory for Rubin this season: in other meetings on the home field, the Kazan team suffered 3 defeats and tied once. Surprisingly, they play better away – 2 wins, a draw and 2 losses.

Another amazing fact about Rubin 2024 - this season the team set two contradictory records: first they won the biggest victory in their history (6:0 over Zvezda 2005), and then suffered the biggest defeat in their history ( 0:10 from Lokomotiv). The status of the “swing” team is also confirmed by the fact that 6 out of 10 matches played this season with the participation of Rubin ended in defeats: 3 times Rubin won big - 3 times they defeated it.

In short, a very interesting and bright team has gathered in Kazan, and head coach Ilya Ulyanin is in charge of it all. The 35-year-old specialist has been working with Rubin’s youth team since its inception, so he knows very well the capabilities of all the players in the Kazan club’s training system.

The main stars of Rubin's youth team are striker Diana Khakimova, who scored 8 goals in 10 matches this season, another striker Darina Kudzieva and defender Alexandra Kurkina, who have 2 goals each, as well as goalkeeper Yesenia Eremeeva, defenders Elizaveta Stanovova and Nailya Nasibullova, midfielder Arina Tsyplova, who are not only involved in the training process with the main team, but also already have matches in the Super League.

The upcoming meeting in Kazan will be the first between the teams in almost two years. The last time Dynamo and Rubin met was in September 2022 – back in the Youth League of the 2022 season. The teams did not intersect last season. In total, they played two meetings with each other and both ended in favor of the blue and white: 1:0 (away) and 3:0 (at home). Among the scorers in those matches, Kristina Komissarova and Irina Dricheva are currently playing in Dynamo (the main team), but Liana Kotelnikova and Anastasia Pervushina, who also scored against Rubin, are now on loan at Perm Zvezda-2005.

The first official meeting of two teams within the Youth League after a long break will be served by a refereeing team led by Ekaterina Manchenko from Volgograd, who will be assisted by assistant referees Anastasia Varenik (Moscow) and Yulia Videneeva (Kazan).

Previously, Manchenko did not work at Dynamo matches.
