Diana Ponomaryova, the WFC Dynamo goalkeeper, celebrates her birthday on Sunday
Diana was born in Moscow and started playing football at the age of 8. When she was 13, she joined the Chertanovo football school, where she quickly progressed from a junior team player to the leader of the Super League first team.
At the age of 16, Ponomaryova made her debut in the first team of WFC Chertanovo, with which she subsequently won silver medals of the Russian championship (2018) and reached the final of the national cup (2017). In the seasons of 2020, 2021 and 2022, she took part in all official matches of her team, and at the end of the season, the goalkeeper was recognized as the best player of WFC Chertanovo.
Since 2022, Diana has been playing for the Russian national team, and since January 2023 — for Dynamo Moscow. For the blue-whites, Ponomaryova has already played 41 matches, in 15 of which she kept her goal intact!
