A product of North Ossetian football, she began playing football in Vladikavkaz in the team of the North Caucasus Mining and Metallurgical Institute (SGMI), her first coach was Givi Tinikashvili. As part of the Vladikavkaz team, she took part in the North Caucasus Federal District championship among girls and in the All-Russian student competitions, which she won in 2016.
Before moving to Dynamo Moscow, Basaeva played for teams from Krasnodar for 7 years: since 2017 - for Kubanochka, and since 2020 - for the Women's Football Club Krasnodar, created on the basis of Kubanochka.
Daniela played her first match in the top league at the age of 18, and scored her debut goal in the elite of Russian women's football a year later - against Torpedo Izhevsk. In the 2019 season, as part of Kubanochka, she won the bronze medal in the Russian championship, playing in all 22 matches for the Krasnodar club, and in the 2024 season, together with Krasnodar, she reached the semi-finals of the Winline Russian Cup.
Basaeva is the top scorer of the Krasnodar Women's Football Club, taking into account the seasons before the reorganization in 2020: the forward has 142 matches for the Krasnodar club, 32 goals and 10 assists. In the 2023 season, the forward took 4th place in the list of the Super League's top scorers (12 goals) and 8th in the goal + assist system (16 points: 12 goals + 4 assists).
The footballer also has experience playing for Russian national teams of different ages: 4 matches for the Russian student team at the 2019 Universiade in Italy, where our team won bronze medals, 2 matches for the Russian youth team under 21, 1 match for the Russian national team in a friendly match with the Belarusian team (2:2), in which Basaeva scored one of the goals, as well as two unofficial matches (with the WFC CSKA and Strogino).
