Zeljka Belovan was born in the town of Zrenjanin in northern Serbia, where she began playing football at the age of 7 under the guidance of her first coach, Goran Cvijetic.
A product of the local club Petlić, Zeljka became a player of WFC Vojvodina in 2017, with whom she won the Serbian Cup and silver medals in the national championship in the 2017/18 season.
The central defender's career then included other Serbian clubs: Zemun, Breznica, Spartak Subotica and three times WFC TSK (Backa Topola), with whom Belovan won bronze medals in the Serbian championship in 2023.
In the 2021/22 and 2023/24 seasons, Zeljka took part in the Women's Champions League, where she scored one goal. In the 2022/23 season, Belovan scored 12 goals in the championship and became the top scorer of WFC TSK. In the 2023/24 season, the Serbian scored 14 goals (9 goals in the regular championship, 4 in the playoffs, 1 in the Serbian Cup), and already during this season (2024/25) she managed to score 5 more goals.
As part of the Serbian U-19 team, she took part in Euro 2017 (3 matches).
