The 2022 season was especially successful for Elena: in 23 matches for Zenit, the striker scored 19 goals, made one assist and became the Super League champion with the blue-white-blue team.
In addition, Shesterneva twice won bronze medals in the Russian Championship (in 2019 as part of the Krasnodar Kubanochka and in 2021 as part of Zenit), and also reached the Russian Cup final three times (2016, 2021, 2022).

Her third goal against Ryazan-VDV after an elegant parachute was also chosen by fans as the best Dynamo goal in March 2023, in May 2024 her goal against Zvezda 2005 (2:1) was named Dynamo best goal of the month, in October-November 2024 her best goal was against Spartak.
In July 2024 Elena was recognized as the best player of the month for the first time as part of Moscow Dynamo.
The striker also has experience playing for Russian national teams of different ages: youth (under 17 years old - 5 matches), youth (under 19 years old - 19 matches, 4 goals) and even student (4 matches), in which Elena became a summer bronze medalist Universiade 2019 in Naples.
On June 17, 2019, she made her debut for the Russian national team in a friendly game against the Czech Republic, coming on as a substitute in the second half instead of Nelly Korovkina.
